Delta Construction Consultants Ltd supported Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in securing Gateway 2 approval through the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) for the substantial refurbishment of the existing Brotherton Wing in Leeds.

The project represents an important investment in the existing hospital estate, with the proposed refurbishment works designed to provide much-needed upgrades and improvements to the building and its associated services. Once delivered, the works will help enhance the facilities available to support the ongoing services provided by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to patients, staff and the wider community.

As part of our involvement, Delta provided specialist Building Regulations and Building Safety Act consultancy, supporting the project team through the Gateway 2 approval process. Our role involved working closely with the client, design team and wider professional team to help ensure that the proposed works demonstrated compliance with the relevant Building Regulations and requirements of the Building Safety Regulator.

The project brought together a multidisciplinary team including Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, P+HS Architects, Kier Group, Drees & Sommer UK, Arcadis and Curtins, with Delta working alongside the team to support the regulatory requirements associated with the major refurbishment.

Securing Gateway 2 approval represents a significant milestone for the project, allowing the necessary refurbishment works to progress towards construction.
