Delta Construction Consultants Ltd provided Registered Building Control Approver services for the construction of a new detached sports hall at Beech Hill School in Halifax, West Yorkshire, supporting the project through to its successful completion and handover.

The new sports hall was developed to provide the school with a dedicated, modern facility for physical education, sporting activities and wider school use. As a standalone building within the school grounds, the project provided an opportunity to create a purpose-built space that could support the needs of pupils and staff while complementing the existing school environment.

The development was undertaken on behalf of The Family of Learning Trust, with the project designed by Wake Morley Architects and construction undertaken by ROYD DEVELOPMENTS LTD. Delta worked alongside the client, architect, contractor and wider project team to provide Building Control oversight throughout the construction process.

Our role involved providing professional advice and monitoring in relation to Building Regulations compliance, supporting the project team in addressing the technical requirements associated with the new-build sports facility. Particular consideration was given to areas including accessibility, fire safety, structural requirements and the building’s intended use as an educational sports facility.

Throughout the project, Delta maintained a collaborative approach, providing clear and practical Building Control input as the works progressed. This helped the project team identify and address regulatory considerations throughout construction and supported the successful delivery of the completed facility.

The project reached successful handover, providing Beech Hill School with a new high-quality sports facility for pupils and the wider school community.
